12% of Scotland's wind turbines (89) are already sited in, or on the border of, Moray..... however there are now proposals to build up to a further 200 turbines mainly sited in areas of outstanding natrual beauty such as the Dava Moor and the Glenfiddich & Cabrach Hills.
Essentially, if these proposals get approved, the few remaining natural wilderness areas in Moray will be lost for ever.
The views from the Cairngorm National park looking north towards the coast, will be that of a "ring of steel" with a skyline of industrial wind turbines reaching up to almost 2800 feet above mean sea level in places.
WE HAVE TO STOP MORE WIND FARM DEVELOPMENT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
Tourism & Whisky is the mainstay of Moray's wealth. Why are our politicans so keen to destroy our environment and businesses?
We MUST learn from the experiences of other countries who have experimented with wind power in a big way, but have found that their CO2 emissions have not reduced and that wind power cannot provide a cost effective, reliable, controlable supply of electricity to meet consumers needs.
Wind Farm developers say that wind farms will reduce CO2 emissions. But we know that in countries such as Denmark, which has the highest number of wind turbines per head of population, that CO2 emission have actually increased.
MORAY is, according to wind farm company figures, theoretically self sufficient in Wind Generated electricity....
So WHY do we need more turbines? Because there are big profits for the wind farm developers.
This is a map of existing and proposed wind farms in, and bordering on, Moray.
