Has it delivered?

The site has a theoretical capacity of 64.4 Mega watts or 564,144 Mega watt hours per year

In 12 months from 2006 it delivered just 16.18 Mega Watts or 141,786 mega watt hours

or, to put it another way, Just 25% of its possible output. (figures from offgem 3rd sept 2007)

What has been the cost?

Annual subsidy approximately £7.08 million

Devestation to another part of Scotlands natrual beauty caused by 28 massive contrete foundations that can never be removed, 13 km of roads capable to take 105t lorries and another industrial blot on a rural landscape. Already there are signs environmental damage caused by peat degredation

 

 

Is this irrevirsable destruction of Peat & Heather moorland a "Green" way of generating energy?
